Another fun advertisement for Chick-fil-A. This water tower is just south of town and is easily spotted from the downtown connector. Isn't it fun?

How random is this? Another thrift store find, this time just above the entryway door, this raccoon is decked out in fashion jewelry.
This is one of several torches that stand around the city. Each is from when Atlanta hosted the Olympic Summer Games in 1996.
This mannequin sits in a thrift store window display in Little 5 Points. Isn't she pretty?
This is the ceiling of the atrium area inside the High Museum of Art. The High is a great place to explore. Besides the art inside, there are lots of photo-worthy spots.
This tree just outside Corner Tavern is decorated with things left in the bar. Evidently, lots of people leave shoes behind after a night here. Note also the random Santa mug thrown in.
These frogs have their mouths open wide for treats, I suppose. Either that, or they're really happy! These are another fun addition to the children's garden inside the Atlanta Botanical Garden.
To give you a better idea of yesterday's statue, here is a full shot of her. Isn't the glassy water beautiful?
I love this sculpture. It sits in the middle of a very small pool off by itself. The small garden is hidden between two portions of the Fuqua Orchid Center. It's easy to miss, but a nice and quiet garden.
This frog looks like he could listen for hours on end to whatever you're talking about. Well, if one were to talk to large frogs. They frog statues are hidden all throughout Atlanta's Botanical Garden.
Another fun children's garden sculpture. I'm happy this guy doesn't have an actual stinger!
This glass piece of part of the "Orchid Daze: Gorgeous Meets Glass" exhibition at the Atlanta Botanical Garden. It consists of contemporary art glass pieces designed by 11 different artists.
Doesn't he look like he's having fun? He looks completely happy and very mischeivous.
This is Symphony Tower located in Midtown. The design of the building earned the U.S. Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) gold certification. The glass fins rising up from the building are illuminated from inside at night and make for a lovely, dramatic skyline.
Flip is the latest endeavor of Atlanta's own Top Chef, Richard Blais. The menu consists of funky burgers (which all sound yummy) and molecular milkshakes at the liquid-nitrogen milkshake bar. Seriously . . . take a second to peruse the milkshakes they have: Nutella & Burnt Marshmallow, Krispy Kreme, Pistachio & White Truffle, and finally a foie gras milkshake! Yum!
These leaves are the dome portion of a gazebo inside the Atlanta Botanical Garden.
This is another view of the interior of the Fox Theatre. From the mezzanine you can really see the beauty of theater. The ceiling is painted a beautiful blue, to resemble the evening sky. There's a smattering of 97 stars, all placed to replicate the sky over Egypt. You can see drifting clouds, too!
The purple area to the right is part of the sound system for the "Might Mo" pipe organ.
This fun bluebird statue is on display inside the children's garden at the Atlanta Botanical Garden. There are all sorts of fun statues and enrichment installations within the children's garden.
I snapped this photo headed into downtown during an evening rush hour. These buildings, a mix of office and residential, are located in Buckhead and made a very nice mirror for the sunset.
How fun is this installation? It's actually a tunnel that leads you to another part of the children's garden. There were kids running in and out of this fish like crazy!
A row of columns at the Millennium Gate.
This is another photo taken during my recent visit to the Atlanta Botanical Garden. I thought this statue seemed so fun and free-spirited. It's displayed in the children's garden.
I love these copper lights. I just think they're so pretty. They're located on all sides of the Millennium Gate. They're just as pretty at night, too.
This is a cute frog sculpture in the Atlanta Botanical Garden. Mr. Frog sits on one side of a park bench, just waiting for some company.
Talk about signage! This is the sign at the entrance to the Lumberyard Lofts in the West End of town. The sign is for Bone Garden Cantina, which is a new-ish Mexican spot. Great prickly-pear margaritas, perfectly fresh salsa, and pretty good tacos, too!
Another shot of the Millenium Gate. This one was taken with my fish-eye lens.
This is the Varsity. This particular location, on North Avenue in Midtown, is home to the World's Largest Drive-in. The Varsity's specialty is hot dogs. The midtown location and the Athens location are both insanely busy on Georgia Tech and Univ. of Georgia game days. Generally, you'll find as many local folks eating here as you will tourists.
